Rio directs to curb abnormal price rise
Kohima, Apr 30 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will soon revamp the District Level Price Monitoring Committee (DLPMC), constituted by the Food and Civil Supplies department in the wake of abnormal price rise.
An official release issued by Additional Chief Secretary Lalthara here stated today that the Chief Minister, in an emergency meeting yesterday, reviewed the situation and decided to called upon all the Deputy Commissioners of DLPMCs to meet within a week and discuss the causes of the price rise.
He had also directed to revamp and strengthen the Chambers of Commerce in Mokokchung, Kohima and Dimapur, so that all the business associations pertaining to specific trades should be under the umbrella of one district level Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Rio would also discuss price rise of all essential commodities in the second week of next month.
However, people have alleged that illegal taxation on the transporters by several organisations and the militants, at police-check were said to be the reasons for the rise in the prices of essential items.
