Reliance has already commenced trial DTH operations: Anil

Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Making a strong foray into the emerging Direct-to-Home (DTH) television operations, Reliance Communications would soon commercially roll out its DTH brand, ''BIG TV'', company Chairman Anil Ambani said today.

Talking to newsmen after announcing the results of the company for 2007-08, Mr Ambani said the trial telecast was already on reaching out 25,000 customers all over the country.

BIG TV would have a nationwide network, unparalleled by another operator, providing MPEG 4 and high definition television technology. It would have the largest number of channels and have several new features, he informed.

On the Reliance IT subsidiary, he said the company had already started from April one. Initially it would cater to the needs of all the four verticals of the group -- telecom, financial services, media and entertainment and utilities and later cater to other clients in each of the verticals.
