Rel and Tata's 'walky services' are limited mobile services: SC
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed the petitions filed by Tata Teleservices and Reliance Infocom challenging Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal's (TDSAT) order holding that Tata and Reliance walky services and unlimited cordless services are 'limited mobile services'.
A bench, comprising Justices S H Kapadia and B Sudarshan Reddy upheld the order of TDSAT and held that the services of the two leading service providers are not fixed landline services but are 'limited mobile services'.
The two companies have been claiming that their services are landline services to avoid the payment of access deficit charges.
