Prices of small and medium grade sugar rise

Navi Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Small and medium grade sugar prices moved up today amid heavy demand from retailers, Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.

Prices of small and medium grade sugar increased by Rs 5 and Rs 15 per quintal respectively, due to better buying support from stockists.

However, ex-mill small and medium grade sugar remained unchanged on moderate demand by local dealers, traders added.

Following are the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,460/1,485, Medium grade: Rs 1,490/1,590.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,440/1,470 and medium grade: Rs 1,475/1,520.
