Official suspended for issuing false ST certificate to BJP candidate

Mysore, Apr 30 (UNI) The district administration today suspended three state government officials, including one for issuing a false caste certificate to the BJP candidate from the reserved H D Kote Constituency for the coming Assembly elections.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer P Manivannan told reporters that Tahasildar T Vijaya was suspended for issuing a ST certificate to Chikkaveera Naika, the BJP candidate from H D Kote constituency, despite being not eligible.

A resident of H D Kote had complained saying that the BJP leader belonged to Pariwara community, which does not come under ST category.

Following a probe the allegation was found correct, the DC said.

Two others who were suspended for failing to attend the election work were Radhakrishna, Executive Officer of T Narasipura and Eshwar a second division clerk in Panchayat office in H D Kote.
