Official suspended for issuing false certificate

Mysore, Apr 30 (UNI) The district administration today suspended three Karnataka Government officials, including one for issuing a false caste certificate to the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) candidate from reserved H D Kote constituency for the ensuing Assembly elections in Karnataka.

Talking to newspersons here, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer P Manivannan said Tahasildar T Vijaya was suspended for issuing a Scheduled Tribe(ST) certificate to the BJP candidate Chikkaveera Naika, despite his ineligibility to contest from the constituency.

A resident of H D Kote had lodged a complaint earlier that the BJP leader belonged to Pariwara community, which does not come under ST category.

Mr Manivannan said following a probe the allegation was found correct. Radhakrishna, Executive Officer of T Narasipura and Eshwar, a second-division clerk at Panchayat office in H D Kote were suspended for dereliction of duty, he added.
