Nalini moves HC seeking early release from prison
Chennai, Apr 30 (UNI) Nalini, one of the convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case, today moved the Madras High Court seeking her early release from prison.
The petition was filed by one of Nalini's counsel and it is likely to be taken up for hearing this evening by Justice Jothimani.
In her petition, she contended that since her death sentence was commuted to life, she had already served 17 years in prison.
Since the life sentence was only up to 14 years, Nalini said she had served in Vellore prison more than the stipulated period, and hence sought her release.
