Gillette net dips 1.38% at Rs 28.41 cr
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Gillette India Ltd (GIL), an arm of Gillette, today said its net profit has decreased 1.38 per cent at Rs 28.41 crore as compared to Rs 28.81 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
Total sales has increased 15.28 per cent to Rs 140.26 crore for the third quarter ended March 2008 as against Rs 121.66 crore over the same period a year ago.
''This strong growth is led by the performance of the Oral care brand, 'Oral B', which grew from Rs 17.43 crore to Rs 24.02 crore, a sharp increase of 37.8 per cent. Grooming products including razors and blades continued to demonstrate strong sustained growth with sales up by 12.71 per cent from Rs 96.81 crore to Rs 109.12 crore,'' a statement said.
In the nine-month period ended March 2008, the company's sales grew 19.39 per cent at Rs 422.74 crore over the same period last year.
