Fake currency seized in West Champaran

Bettiah, Apr 30 (UNI) Police seized fake currency valued Rs 1,94000 on Lauria-Bagaha road under Lauria police station area in West Champaran district last night.

Police said here today that during routine patrolling, a motorcycle rider was asked to stop on suspicion but he managed to escape after abandoning his vehicle.

Later, during the search, fake currency valued Rs 1,94000 was recovered from the motorcycle while on examinataion of papers of the vehicle, it was detected that the owner of the motorbike was one Barrister Shah, a resident of Khutwania Jaralpur village under Jogappati block in Lauria police station area.

Raids were being carried out to nab the owner of the vehicle and trace out the gang involved in circulation of fake currency.
