Discussion on setting up of jute board to continue
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Discussion on a proposed Bill by Union Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela to set up a National Jute Board for the development, cultivation, manufacture and marketing of jute and jute products remained inconclusive in the Lok Sabha today.
Kashiram Rana of the BJP while calling for inclusion of farmers, workers and exporters in the board said if real development was being sought, then majority of the members of the board be included from these classes.
''The present proposal with bureaucratic majority would not reflect the aspirations of the people it was being meant for.'' The discussion would continue on Monday, May 5, when the House meets again, ruled the chair as time was closing on the last agenda of the day -- half-an-hour discussion on the National Rural Employment Guarantee (NREG) Scheme.
