Clash at mosque in MP

Harda, MP, Apr 30 (UNI) Police lathicharged and lobbed tear gas canisters to disperse two groups indulging in stone-pelting over the assuming of office by a local mosque's management committee today, police said.

Head Constable Girjashankar Sharma was among some persons hurt in the disturbance at the Jama Masjid where supporters of the former committee clashed with their counterparts in the present committee.

An additional force has been stationed. A case of assault was registered against more than half-a-dozen people.
