Brown Sugar seized, two including a Lankan national arrested
Rameswaram, Apr 30 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Intelligence officials seized brown sugar weighing one kg and arrested two people, including a Sri Lankan national at Rameswaram railway station, early today.
Police said acting on a tip off, the Intelligence sleuths nabbed Niranjan (50), hailing from Trincomalee in Sri Lanka and Vel Mayil (53), from Tiruchirapalli and seized contraband.
The brown sugar was meant for smuggling to Sri Lanka.
An investigation was, underway, police added.
