BJP has no moral right to talk about national security: AICC
Bangalore, Apr 30 (UNI) AICC spokesperson Manish Tiwari today said the BJP had no ''moral right'' to talk about national security and terrorism.
Taking strong exception to the recent statement by BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley that national security was under threat and terrorism was out of control of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre,'' Mr Tiwari alleged that ''the track record shows that during the BJP-led NDA government, national security was under threat and terrorist activities across the borders were rampant.'' He claimed it was the Congress which ended the 15-year-old terrorist activities in Punjab in 1995 and since then the state was peaceful. In 1986, it was again the Congress, which put an end to insurgency in Mizoram, he said.
Stating that the attack on Parliament took place during the NDA rule, Mr Tiwari alleged that ''the NDA's six year rule was the worst in terms of national security.'' UNI MSP SJ RL1925
