AP urged to procure paddy, chilli

Hyderabad, Apr 30 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Kisan and Kheth Mazdoor Cell today urged the state government to procure the paddy and chilli, which were affected due to untimely rains in the state.

In a statement here, Cell Chairman M Kodanda Reddy said the Executive Committee of the Cell, which was held here to create awareness among the farming community on the issue, discussed about the crop insurance scheme, village as a unit in 22 districts in the state.

He also urged the state government to procure the paddy through the Food Corporation of India and chilli through the Spices Board.
