Strange missile found on Karnataka sea coast
Udupi, Apr 29 (UNI) A part of an object resembling a missile type of 'strange object' was found on the shores near Mattu on the outskirts of the city today.
Villagers and fishermen from the surrounding areas became apprehensive over the object when they first noticed it in the early morning. Shocked people were afraid to go near the area where it was found.
Police and Indian Navy officials rushed to the spot and after an examination said that the portion of the equipment found near the shore was embossed with USA Geo space technology mark and F9 mark.
Light was also blinking on the equipment with a warning mark that it should not be kept open above atmosphere temperature of 54 Degrees Celsius, sources said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the equipment was either part-used during the missile launch or part of the fire extinguisher used in the ships.
However, the Coastal security and the Naval officials were investigating further for the exact identification of the object.
The entire area had been cordoned off for conducting detail investigation.
The locals also recalled that similar kind of equipment was found in the same area 14 years ago, which allegedly went off on its own after few hours.
