Pilgrim killed, 20 injured in accident in HP

Mandi, Apr 29 (UNI) A pilgrim was killed and 20 were injured, nine of them seriously, after a jeep carrying Bala Tikka Devta from Chachiot Valley to Manikaran crashed into a truck in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh late last evening, police sources today said.

The jeep slammed into the oncoming truck coming near Panarsa, about 46 km from here.

The sources said the seriously injured people were referred to the nearest Regional Hospital Kullu, while the others injured in the accident were discharged after being administered first aid at a primary heath centre.

The dead has been identified as Narayan Singh, the sources said, adding that the cause of the accident was not yet known.
