About 100 affected by gastroenterties
Mysore, Apr 29 (UNI) About 100 people, including women and children, took ill after consuming contaminated water supplied at Jnanalokanagar slum in the city today.
All the affected were admitted to epidemic diseases hospital here.
According to Corporation Health officials people started arriving at the hospital complaining of vomiting and diarrhoea. The authorities suspected to be outbreak of gastroenterities.
Meanwhile precautionary measures have been taken up by the City Corporation and Department of Health and Family Welfare to contain the spread of the epidemic. The people were advised to maintain hygiene, drink boiled water and avoid roadside food.
Corporation Health officer Dr Nagaraj said a team of 30 doctors and paramedical staff led by himself went door to door and a make shift clinic was opened at the affected colony. The samples of tap water has been sent to district laboratory for investigation.
