UPSRTC defers strike for 15 days
Lucknow, Apr 28 (UNI) UPSRTC employees, who had announced to go for state-wide strike tonight, have defered their agitation for a fortnight after assurance from the state government to consider their demand.
Transport Minister for state Ram Achal Rajbhar today said ''we are considering the demands put forward by the UPSRTC workers and will soon take a decision.'' UPSRTC employees union had several meetings with the administration to get their demands sanctioned and had declared strike from 12 o' clock tonight for the same.
However, the UP government had directed all the district Magistrates to make alternate transport arrangements to avoid any inconvenience to general public and take stringent action against the violent protesters and law-breakers.
UPSRTC employees had demanded to extend their retirement age from 58 to 60, besides taking 1982 and further employees under pension scheme.
They had also asked for 50 per cent dearness allowance and job on compassionate grounds to the family member of the deceased.
