Two soldiers injured in Kashmir encounter

Baramulla, Apr 28 (UNI) Two soldiers were injured in a fierce encounter in the woods of frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said.

They said militants attacked an army patrol party in Churnar forest at Handwara in Kupwara district this afternoon.

Troops also retaliated and in the encounter two soldiers were wounded.

A defence ministry spokesman in Srinagar confirmed the encounter and said the entire area has been cordoned off and a massive operation has been launched.

He said two soldiers received minor injuries in the encounter.
