Step to regularise fee structure will be taken: Shajahan
Puducherry, Apr 28 (UNI) The Puducherry administration will take steps to regularise the fees structure in unaided private schools in the Union Territory, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan told the Legislative Assembly today.
Replying to a question, Mr Shajahan said uniform fee structure could not be introduced in private schools since each school was having different infrastructural facilities.
As fees should be collected on the basis of the facilities provided by the schools, the administration would set up a fee committee on the lines of the one constituted for colleges to regularise the fees, he added.
The administration would get copies of the rules framed by the Kerala government in this regard and steps would be taken after studying it, he added.
He said necessary steps would be taken to remove the pay anomalies of teachers in private schools and also to ensure that they were paid during the annual leave period also.
Earlier, Mr Anbazhagan (AIADMK) and K Lakshminarayanan(PMC) alleged that as unaided private schools were not under the control of the government, they were charging exhorbitant fees from the students.
