Rupee opens low at 40.11 against USD

Mumbai, Apr 28: Rupee today opened softer at Rs 40.12/14 per USD with a small loss of two paise from its previous close at Rs 40.10 on fresh buying support from foreign banks along with bullish phase at the stock markets.

Brokers said, Rupee weakened on Monday, pushed lower by oil refiners buying Dollars to meet month-end commitments, and investors avoided opening big positions ahead of RBI's policy review on Tuesday. Later it fluctuated in a narrow range between 40.12 and 40.17 per Dollar, weaker than Friday's close of 40.10/11.
