Rly work suspended over security concern

Agartala, Apr 28 (UNI) Concerned over the recent attack on railway staff in Tuikarma under Talaimura sub-division of West Tripura, the Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to suspend all its work in the state till further orders.

Meanwhile, Chief Engineer (Construction) Northeast Frontier Railway B.Choudhury is expected to visit the spot where the April 26 incident took place.

A railway employee fell to extremist bullets. The ultras also kidnapped a Railway Engineer from that spot, stalling work in that area.

According to railway sources the staff is frightened and reluctant to go to work. ''We are waiting for the green signal from higher authorities for starting work,'' he said.

Meanwhile, police and TSTR jawans were continuing search operation.
