Police seize boat with 300 bags maize
Kakinada, Apr 28 (UNI) The Port police, on a tip off, today intercepted a boat, clandestinely transporting 300 bags of maize, reportedly pilfered from the port godowns at the Upputeru canal here in this district of Andhra Pradesh.
Police said six people alleged to be members of the racket involved in pilferage of maize, were arrested.
The boat and maize stock worth Rs 2 lakh were seized.
All the accused hail from Vetimoga.
An investigation was, underway, police added. .
