Karunanidhi applauds ISRO team
Chennai, Apr 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today congratulated ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair and his team of scientists for successfully launching Cartosat-2, India's first mini satellite, and eight foreign satellites, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota.
In a message here, he said he was congratulating the team on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government as well as the people of the state for ISRO's record achievement. Today's historic launch had elevated India's stature in the world scientific fraternity, he observed.
''I convey my congratulations to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for providing the inspiration and guidance to Mr Nair and his team at ISRO to achieve this unique milestone in India's space programmes,'' he said.
