Heat wave continues unabated, mercury recorded at 40.7 deg C
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) The heat wave sweeping the capital over the last week continued unabated today with the mercury staying over the 40 degree Celsius mark.
The scorching heat of the sun, coupled with hot winds, kept the maximum temperature three degrees above normal at 40.7 degree C.
Though the minumum was recorded one degree below normal at 21.7 degree C, the heat confined people indoors in the air conditioned comfort of their homes and offices.
The coming days are not likely to see any respite from the heat with the weathermen forecasting a maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius tomorrow.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky here Delhi during the next 24 hours.
