Five policemen suspended for manhandling BJP workers

Darbhanga, Apr 28 (UNI) Altogether five policemen, including an ASI, were suspended for manhandling BJP workers during polling for Bihar Legislative Council from teachers and graduate constituency under Laheriyasarai police station here today.

Police Superintendent Sunil Kumar Jha said the police personnel deployed at a polling booth in Laheriasarai manhandled the BJP workers following a scuffle with them.

Demanding action against the guilty policemen, the agitated workers of the BJP and JD(U) staged dharna and boycotted the poll at the booth, he said.

Later finding the police personnel prima facie guilty of the incident, the District Magistrate suspended them, he added.
