Explosives recovered by army

Siliguri, Apr 28(UNI) Army today recovered high explosives, including eight mortar shells of 51 mm each and one illumination shell, from Bagra court under Malbazar Police Station.

Sources said acting on a tip-off, Army raided a house and recovered the explosives. A person was also arrested in this connection.

The Army usually uses these mortar shells and the illumination shell during warfare.

Special IG Jalpaiguri Range Adhir Sharma said investigation was on and the person was being questioned.

He said it might have been the handiwork of some militant organisations.
