Deshmukh for strict implementation of RTI
Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today called for strict implementation of Right to Information (RTI) Act and asked the state chief secretary and other officials not to delay the file.
Speaking at a meeting attended by social activist and RTI campaigner Anna Hazare, ministers and other officials, Mr Deshmukh said this year will be celebrated as e-governance year.
The government would make use of modern technology to see whether the government servants come on their job at a proper time or not, he said.
While Mr Hazare rued that the meetings of gram sabhas were not being held regularly, Mr Deshmukh said for that people's awakening was required.
