Dalit organisations to boycott Assembly poll in Karnataka
Mysore, Apr 28(UNI) Members of various Dalit organisations in Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts today decided to boycott the ensuing assembly elections to Karnataka for not giving proper representation to their community.
Talking to newspersons here, Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samithi, Mysore president D Thimmaiah said the decision to boycott was taken at a meeting of Akhila Karnataka Adijambava Sangha, Babu Jagajivanram Association, Madigara Hitharakshna Samithi and Dalit Sangarsha Smithi held recently.
Mr Thimmaiah said the members would also hold dharna before all political party offices and residence of former Ministers by wearing black-flags.
He said the parties failed to provide even three seats to Madigara community of the seven reserved constitutencies in the two districts.
He urged other community people to boycott the polls by condemning the attitude of the political parties in depriving social justice to dalits.
