AIADMK stage demo over phone tapping issue

Madurai, Apr 28 (UNI) More than 1,000 volunteers, including women of the Opposition AIADMK today staged a demonstration as part of the statewide programme near the Head Post Office here today, demanding the resignation of DMK government for alleged tapping of the phones of opposition leaders and senior officials.

The protesters led by A P Muthumani, state joint secretary of Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai (ATP), affiliated to the AIADMK, demanded that Chief Minister should resign, owning moral responsibility for allegedly indulging in anti-democratic act.

Police made tight security arrangements in view of the stir.
