3 members of family killed as car hits lorry

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Apr 28 (UNI) Three members of a family, including two women, were killed when the car in which they were travelling collided with a container lorry at Naranamangalam Village on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway, near here, yesterday, police said today.

They said, the deceased were identified as Gunasekaran(35), working as a senior draftsman in the Forest Engineering Department here, his wife Vijayakumari (52) and their daughter Indumathi (30).

They were on their way to Tiruchirapalli from Chennai when the accident occurred.

While Gunasekaran and his wife died on the spot, Indumathi succumbed to her injuries at the Government Headquarters Hospital here, police said.
