Senior CPI leader passes away

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and former state secretary of the party Dasari Nagabhushana Rao died today following a brief illness at Chandra Rajeswara Rao old age home in the city.

Rao (82) is survived by wife, two sons and one daughter.

The CPI leader had started his political career as a student by joining the AISF, student wing of the CPI.

He served as the CPI state secretary from 1992 to 1997. He was elected as Rajya Sabha member in 1998 and also served as the CPI All India Secretariat member.

He was the main instrument behind the establishment of Chandra Rajeswara Rao Foundation, which was serving the poor and aged people.
