Leopard trapped in Nashik

Nashik, Apr 27 (UNI) A female leopard was trapped at Vadnergate area, near here today.

The female leopard was trapped in a cage placed by the forest department in Vadnergate area, near the city.

On April 25, a 14-year-old girl had found two leopard cubs in a field from the same area. Labourers working in the field had seen the female leopard disappearing in the field with one cub.

On being urged by local residents, the forest department had laid the trap, in which the big cat was caught today. A team of forest department officials took the animal in their custody. Experts would decide, whether the leopard caught today was the mother of the cub seen on April 25, sources said.
