Labourer shot dead over minor issue

Allahabad, Apr 27 (UNI) A labourer was shot dead today in Chafri village in Nawabganj police area, over a hand pump installation dispute.

Maiku (35), a daily wage labourer, this afternoon had installed a hand pump in front of his house contrary to the wishes of his neighbours, who wanted it to be at their doorstep.

The issue snowballed and there was heated exchange of words which further swelled and Maiku's neighbour shot at him.

Maiku died on the spot.

Superintendent of Police reached the spot with station officer Nawabganj P P Pandey and assured of speedy investigations.

An FIR had been lodged against Mohd Aarif, Mahroof, Raees, Umaid and Saif.
