Internal security, foreign relations worsened: Advani

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 27 (UNI) Stating that the Congress-led government has failed on all fronts, leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today said the internal security as well as the foreign relations have worsened during the present government.

''The internal security has been abysmal and it has gone from bad to worse. The country's foreign relation is also seen to be worsening during the present UPA government,'' he said, while addressing the Samathva Samrakshana rally here.

''Even worse is the price hike. The government has failed to bring down the price, which had dealt a heavy blow on the people,'' he said.

Alleging that the Left was only staging a drama by protesting against the Centre for various issues, including price hike, Mr Advani said both the Congress and the Left should be blamed for worsening the economic situation of the country.

On the reservation issue, Mr Advani reiterated that the Manmohan Singh government had ''deviated from the Constitution'' by proposing reservation on religious grounds. The Congress had only deviated from the very spirit of the Constitution for the sake of vote banks.

The Constituent Assembly said that there should be no reservation on religious basis in the country.

Mr Advani alleged that all the projects and institutions were named after a single family. ''Five projects were announced in the Parliament and all were either named after Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. There is no institution or any project in the name of Ambedkar, Sardar Patel or any other persons who had contributed to the country's progress,'' he said.

The BJP had organised the Samathva Samrakshana rally against the Sachhar Committee report.
