BSP to win 40 seats in upcoming polls: Sindhya
Mysore, Apr 27 (UNI) BSP National General Secretary P G R Sindhya today claimed his party would win not less than 40 seats in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election.
Participating in meet the press programme, organised by the Mysore District Journalists Association here, he said BSP contesting in all the 224 Assembly seats in the state for the first time, which had two per cent votes during the previous elections, was expected to secure 20 per cent of votes.
Mr Sindhya said the main aim of BSP was to build a strong base for the party in Karnataka.
Replying to a question, Mr Sindhya said he was not contesting in the Assembly election. He had won five times from Kanakapura Assembly segment and served as Minister and now the time has come to give opportunity to others.
The BSP began its election campaign here today and would tour the entire state in the coming days. ''We will seek people's support to the party, which had provided social justice to all sectors of the people in Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Mayawati, he added.
