BJP manifesto would be next state budget: Yeddyurappa
Mysore, Apr 27 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader B S Yeddyurappa today said his party's manifesto would be the next state budget, if the BJP captured power in the coming Assembly elections to Karnataka.
Addressing the BJP road-show in this district, which began from temple town of Nanjangud, he said the BJP would fulfil its promises in the manifesto, besides concentrating on pro-people governance and focus on farming community in the State.
Mr Yeddyurappa alleged that the people were disgusted with the Janata Dal(S)(JD-S) following its withdrawal of support to the BJP during the JD(S)-BJP combine in which both the parties had an agreement that they would rule the destiny of the State for 20 months each. Instead after the expiry of its term, the JD(S) withdrew its support to the BJP hastily, citing irrelevant reasons, he added.
Referring to former Chief Minister and Samajawadi Party Chief S Bangarappa's decision to contest from Shikaripura constituency, Mr Yeddyurappa said, since he is also contesting from the same constituency, people would give a fitting rebuff to Mr Bangarappa and will elect ''me by a huge margin.'' He said people would recognise his party's meritorious performance, albeit during their brief tenure, while exercising their franchise in the poll. ''The party is confident of winning the elections on its own with flying colours,'' he added.
Meanwhile, the district election authorities had impounded four cars, including Mr Yeddyurappa's for violation of election code, as they had not sought permission from the authorities concerned for transporation during their campaign.
Later, Mr Yeddyurappa left for Kollegal in Chamrajanagara district to campaign in another vehicle after completing necessary formalities.
