BJP demands Reddy, Sheila resignation on sealing issue
New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) The Delhi BJP today demanded that Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit resign from their posts if they failed to stop sealing in the national capital, which begins tomorrow.
Demanding that practical steps and legal measures be taken to save people from sealing, state BJP chief Harshvardhan said even after two years the Congress government had failed to implement the amnesty scheme.
''This was deliberate. In fact they are now misleading people on he issue. The only way to save people from destruction was to implement the amnesty scheme immediately,'' he said.
Accusing the Congress of being hand in glove with the Mall lobby, he said small traders were the worst sufferers because of the sealing.
Both Mr Jaipal Reddy and Ms Sheila Dikshit should resign owning responsibility, he added.
