APCC gears up party cadres for 2009 elections

Vijayawada, Apr 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Chief D Srinivas today geared up the party cadres for 2009 elections, by appealing them to disseminate information to the people on the developmental programmes and welfare schemes undertaken by the Congress government in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Addressing a felicitation meeting, he urged the party cadres and leaders to work coordinately and strengthen the party and also to create awareness among the people about the various schemes and welfare measures like massive housing, arogyashri, Rs two per kg rice, irrigataion project etc, undertaken by Congress government.

He claimed that the Congress government both at the Centre and the state under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi was fulfilling not only the promises made in the election manifesto but also several schemes which were not part of the manifesto.

He also blamed the TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu's sops to the people during his 150 days 'meekosam' tour programme.
