Smuggled PDS rice comes from TN: DIG

Tirupati, Apr 26 (UNI) Vigilance Enforcement DIG, Balasubramanyam today said that smuggled PDS rice through TADA check post in Nellore district by producing fake bills had come from Chennai.

The rice was smuggled to Kolar district in Karnataka state and all necessary steps were taken to prevent smuggling, he said in a press conference.

It may be recalled that 545 bags of PDS rice was seized recently, while smuggling from Nellore to Kolar district and a case was registered with Chandragiri police station near here.
