Gurgaon police to register complaints through SMSes

Chandigarh, Apr 26 (UNI) Gurgaon is going to be the first district in Haryana to have the ultra-modern system of receiving complaints/reports regarding crimes by way of SMSes.

Stating this here yesterday, a police spokesman said with the introduction of this system, the police could immediately be informed through SMSes about the incidents of theft, chain snatching and it would automatically reach to the police officer concerned.

The system would prove a boon to the people who hesitate to inform the police on phone about such incidents. Information as to road block could also be given to the police throug SMSes.

He said a separate website of Gurgaon police was also being developed as part of police reforms programme, enabling the public to get all kinds of police related information just by click of mouse.
