Cong worker attempts suicide before party office

Bidar, Apr 26 (UNI) A Congress activist today attempted suicide by trying to set himself on fire after pouring kerosene on his body in front of the Congress office here in protest against denial of party ticket to his leader C S Das Chiduri.

Police said the activist Appiraju came to the party office and raised slogans against the process of ticket allocation and poured kerosene over his body. The police overpowered him and stopped him from taking the extreme step.

Later, he was taken into custody, police added.
