China greater threat than Pakistan: Shourie
Kolkata, Apr 26 (UNI) Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha member Arun Shourie today said China was a greater threat to India than Pakistan.
''The threat of Pakistan is manageable, but China poses a bigger threat to us and it is not manageable,'' he told reporters after a seminar on India's security, organised by Calcutta Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Shourie, a BJP MP in the House of elders, said China had been entering into countries with ''comprehensive national strength and with long term objectives.'' He observed that India was surrounded by ''failed states'' and its external situation was ''very ominous''.
Mr Shourie, however, said Pakistan was now busy with its internal problems which gave India some respite and led to a significant fall in the number of killings in Kashmir.
