Youth commits suicide in police lock up
Amritsar, Apr 25 (UNI) A youth today allegedly committed suicide in police lock up inside the Mehta police station in Amritsar Rural police district, police here said.
The deceased, identified as Jagtar Singh used a blanket provided to him by the police to hang himself from the grill of a ventilator inside the lock up.
He had been arrested yesterday on theft charges. An inquiry has been ordered into the suicide.
