Wendt India to expand footprint in Asia

Bangalore, Apr 25 (UNI) Wendt (India), leader in manufacture of Super-abrasive Grinding Wheels and tools, and supplies honing sticks and precision diamond dressing roll has plans to go for expansion to meet the specialised requirement of its customers worldwide.

Speaking to newspersons here today company Chairman M M Murugappan said that the company a part of the USD 2 billion Murugappa Group, was completing 25 years of operations this year has emerged as a leader in super abrasives in India enjoying 'Most Preferred Status' with its customers.

Informing that having set up a 100 per cent owned subsidiary in Thailand three years ago the company was poised to become a multinational with manufacturing plants and sales offices in Asia Pacific and Middle East. There were also plans to extend footprint in Malaysia, Australia and South Africa.

Mr Murugappan said that Wendt India, having its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hosur in Tamil Nadu had registered a sales of Rs 64 crore in the just ended fiscal and registered a growth of 17 per cent revenue over the previous year.

The company eyes to reach a target of Rs 100 crore in next two to three years, he said.
