Weathermen issues heavy rainfall warning for Andamans
Port Blair, Apr 25 (UNI) The Andaman unit of Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning that heavy rainfall would last the Andaman and Nicobar Islands within the next 48 hrs.
IMD's Andaman in-charge said the sky would be mainly overcast.
Under the influence of a low pressure area, light to moderate rain with thunderstorm will occur at most places, he told UNI.
The met department have given warning of one or two spells of heavy rain accompanied with gusty wind in these remote islands.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands usually experience monsoon for seven months in a year with an average annual rainfall of 3180 mm.
