Watchman beaten to death

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 25 (UNI) A watchman of a construction company was beaten to death by some thieves here, police said today.

Shekh Sanour (24), was guarding construction material near Badorkhar under Masturi police station area of the city when he was killed by the thieves yesterday.

He stayed there even as the miscreants threw stones on him while his fellow watchman fled from the spot.

The victim was a resident of West Bengal's Mangalbadi area and employed by a private company Sky Builder Works, which was contracted by the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, for erecting a transmission tower.

The deceased's colleague was being interrogated, the police added.
