Titan net up 59.64% at Rs 150.27 cr

New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) Titan Industries, maker of personal accessories like watches, jewellery, sunglasses and eye wear, today said its net profit increased 59.64 per cent to Rs 150.27 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 compared to Rs 94.13 crore last year.

The total income has increased 42.3 per cent to Rs 3,041 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 2,136 crore last year.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2008, the sales grew 27.5 per cent to Rs 835.9 crore from Rs 606 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

''The Watch segment sales grew by 11 per cent, Jewellery segment sales went up by 36 per cent as compared to the previous year,'' a company statement said.

Its eyewear business has 10 stores, while Gold Plus, its mass market brand for jewellery has crossed the Rs 200 crore sales during the year, the statement added.

The company directors have recommended a dividend of 80 per cent, which was 50 per cent during the previous year.
