Sukhbir Badal to choose SAD candidate for assembly bypoll

Chandigarh, Apr 25 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal will choose the party candidate for the Amritsar South assembly bypoll scheduled to be held on May 22.

A meeting of the SAD's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) held here today authorised the Junior Badal to select the candidate for the byelection.

The meeting was attended by almost all senior members of the PAC including SAD patron and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

The Amritsar South seat fell vacant following the death of Mr Raminder Singh Bolaria, who had won this seat on the SAD ticket in the assembly polls in February last year.
