Speed up relief work in drought-hit regions: CS

Lucknow, Apr 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Mishra today directed the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to visit the drought-hit regions weekly and speed up the relief work.

He said about Rs 50 lakh each had been provided to the districts for potable water and asked the officials to ensure that water reaches every village.

He further directed the officials to distribute all agricultural grants to the farmers by May 15.

He also said he would personally take the stock of the situation at the disaster affected districts in the first week of May.
